Beyond the Basics: Drill & Play | October 29

$50.00

This coaching clinic is meant for players with some pickleball experience who are looking to level up with modern mindset & tactics.

The session will be broken down into two distinct topics, and we will blend them together as we close out the clinic.

“War & Peace:” Speed-Ups and Fire-Fights: When at the kitchen, there will inevitably be an attack via speedup, by you or your opponent. We’ll work on the when, how, and then-what with these scenarios.

Speed-Ups: Starting the Fight

Speeding up is attacking- and attacking isn’t about power - instead it requires an understanding of shot combinations and angles to pull off consistently.
We’ll work on when to speed up, your goal for the speed up, and how to accomplish that goal. There’s also ‘chess not checkers’ over the long haul of an entire match.

Fire-Fights: Finishing the Fight

No matter who attacks, firefights are a reality in today’s pickleball game. If your opponent sees that you can’t handle the heat, they’ll just crank the temperature up more. This skillset is equal parts mental and physical; we’ll help you bring the fight back to them and make them think twice about testing you again.

We’ll drill on both these skills and scenarios and then ingrain them through play. We’ll work with each player on how to best set themselves up for success, drill these tweaks, and cement them through group play.
